I need to use these setting on the SPA3000: Preferred Codec = G729a Use Pref Codec Only: yes This works very well for my VOIP. Why sometimes the Sipura decides to use a different Codec e.g G711u.

It might be a glitch with the VOIP provider but the work-around is to force it to use Pref Codec only to YES. Why do I need to force it to G729a always -- stop echo for international phone calls. Local and interstate works Ok. However, as you probably know doing this -- PSTN outgoing doesn't work. I have read an old sipura manual that says you can force the codec *02729 somewhere in the dial plan -- but this doesn't work. Is it at all possible for the firmware to be changed so that if it's a PSTN outgoing call (i.e gw0) then ignore the Pref Codec Only option -- and let the PSTN call passthrough.
